AFITI hosts Market Surveillance authorities for the Marine Equipment Directive from the ADCO Group.

At AFITI’s facilities in Toledo, a meeting was held with Market Surveillance authorities for the Marine Equipment Directive from the ADCO Group. This meeting, which took place on Wednesday, April 24, is part of the ADCO Group’s initiative to facilitate cooperation, exchange of information, and experiences in market surveillance, in accordance with Article 30 of Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products, as well as the MED 2014/90/EU Directive itself in its Article 33.

The main objectives of this group include harmonizing the application of EU legislation regarding the MED directive, promoting communication among market surveillance authorities, conducting joint market surveillance actions for marine equipment, and facilitating evaluations of products from specific sectors, covering test methods, risk analysis, recent scientific developments, and other relevant aspects for market surveillance control activities.

 

During the meeting, AFITI had the pleasure of hosting these authorities and showcasing their work, particularly highlighting the work carried out in the fire reaction and resistance laboratories of construction materials and elements. Additionally, the organization’s values regarding the testing of materials and construction elements were emphasized. AFITI highlighted that its standardized testing methods are demanding and rigorous, always adhering to national and international standards, and continuously updated to stay abreast of regulations, thus ensuring accuracy in the issuance of test reports and classification of construction materials and elements.
