Technical Conference on Fire Safety Certification at the Instituto Claudio Galeno

On 25 November, we had the honour of visiting the Claudio Galeno Institute of Professional Training in Health Emergencies and Civil Protection to present an enriching technical seminar entitled ‘Certification of the conformity of fire safety materials, elements, products and systems’, given by our colleague, engineer Krissel Pérez.

The event, aimed at students and teachers of the Claudio Galeno Institute of Professional Training in Health Emergencies and Civil Protection, addressed aspects related to reaction and fire resistance testing procedures for construction elements and materials in our laboratories, as well as certification procedures for materials and products used in fire fighting, a fundamental area for guaranteeing the safety and effectiveness of the systems used in critical situations.

During her speech, our colleague and representative at the event, Krissel Pérez, highlighted the importance of ensuring the conformity of construction materials and elements and of ships and extinguishing systems and equipment through strict evaluation processes, as well as the role played by international and European standards in the regulation of these procedures. It also explored how these certifications contribute to the protection of human lives and property by ensuring the correct functioning of equipment in extreme conditions.

The topics covered included:

– The methodology for conformity assessment of fire safety systems.

– The main regulations and standards applicable in Europe and Spain.

– Current challenges and technological innovations in the industry.

– The importance of continuous training for professionals in the sector.

The impact of this technical conference was remarkable among the attendees, who actively participated in the question and answer session, showing great interest in learning about the experiences and knowledge shared by our colleague Krissel Pérez.

AFITI, as a reference association in the evaluation and certification of fire safety systems, reaffirms with this type of initiative its commitment to training and the dissemination of good practices in the sector. This technical conference represents a further step in the collaboration between educational institutions and professional organisations to train future generations in issues of vital importance to society.

We thank the Claudio Galeno Institute for the opportunity to participate in this event and look forward to continuing to collaborate on future projects that promote technical and professional excellence in the sector.
