Laboratory of reaction to fire

The task of the Reaction to fire laboratory is to determine the potential contribution of a material to the development of a fire.

In the field of civil construction, the test enables to obtain the reaction to fire euroclass for construction materials in accordance with RD 842/2013, which approves the classification of construction products and building elements depending on their reaction and resistance to fire properties.

In the field of shipbuilding, the test allows obtaining the reaction to fire classification as defined in the International Code for the application of fire exposure test procedures, PEF code of the Maritime Safety Committee.

AFITI is accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC) and recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for conducting tests according to a great number of standards; which enables our clients to provide proof of compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements; which, in Spain, are defined in the Technical Building Code, CTE (RD 314/2006) and in the Regulation on Fire Safety in Industrial Establishments, RSCIEI (RD 2267/2004).

Moreover, AFITI is recognized by other foreign organizations and entities for the entry into the international market.
