AFITI is accredited to conduct fire tests under UL 263 and ASTM E119 standards

The Association for the Promotion of Research and Technology in Fire Safety (AFITI) has recently obtained accreditation to conduct fire tests in accordance with UL 263 and ASTM E119 standards. This new accreditation expands AFITI's capability to assess the fire resistance of materials and construction systems according to internationally recognized standards.

20 Years after the Windsor Building Fire: Lessons in Fire Protection

The flames started on the 21st floor and, due to the structure of the building and the lack of adequate protection systems, they spread out of control. The Windsor lacked automatic sprinklers and an efficient containment system, which allowed the fire to spread rapidly.
