20 Years after the Windsor Building Fire: Lessons in Fire Protection

The flames started on the 21st floor and, due to the structure of the building and the lack of adequate protection systems, they spread out of control. The Windsor lacked automatic sprinklers and an efficient containment system, which allowed the fire to spread rapidly. In addition, the flammable material used in its construction aggravated the situation.

Technical Conference on Fire Safety Certification at the Instituto Claudio Galeno

On 25 November, we had the honour of visiting the Claudio Galeno Institute of Professional Training in Health Emergencies and Civil Protection to present an enriching technical seminar entitled ‘Certification of the conformity of fire safety materials, elements, products and systems’, given by our colleague, engineer Krissel Pérez.

Innovation in Fire Prevention: Building on Modern Construction

Fire-resistant materials have become an essential component of modern construction. Fire-resistant panels, intumescent coatings, and glass with high thermal resistance offer effective solutions to mitigate the spread of flames.
